Acts 15 ~ Paul and the Pharisees

Paul and Barnabus had NO SMALL dispute with the Pharisees in Acts 15: 2. What was the dispute about? Some from the Christian world would frame the argument as follows:
But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.” Acts 15:5
So, some would conclude that this is saying that Christians don’t need to keep the Torah.
But is that what this dispute is really about? What was the vehement dispute between Paul and the Pharisees really about? The question on the table was NOT whether or not a follower of Yeshua the Messiah should keep the torah or not. The question on the table was this: What is the process for those from the nations who want to join Messiah’s covenant family? What enables them to be in covenant relationship with the Messiah? What is the process for a NON JEWISH person to become part of Yeshua’s family? Do they need to be circumcised in the flesh (Gen 17:9-10). Or, is circumcision of the heart the weightier matter of Torah? (Deut. 10: 12, 16). Listen in as Eddie brings clarity to this much misunderstood chapter.
